Asia Pacific (APAC) values community the most

People in the APAC (Asia Pacific) region are more likely to say that participating in a wider community is important to wellbeing, compared with people in EMEA and the Americas. They are also the most likely to say they are part of a wider, reciprocal community.

This could be due to Asian countries, such as India, having a culture that is strongly centred around groups, such as family, religious and geographical communities. Our research shows that India is the country that values participating in a wider community the most.

“If I look at the people who are in my periphery and they have more than me with respect to material goods or income, I'm likely to feel less prosperous. If I look at the people who are around me and they have less, I’m likely to feel more prosperous.”
